Covering letter example

This is an example of the covering letter for release of documents for informal release.

Dear [customer/third-party name], - Note: third-party not applicable to any TFN request

I refer to your request [/(if applicable) on behalf of [customer name]] dated [insert date of request] and received by Services Australia (the agency) on [insert date received], for access to documents relating to [program area or brief description].

You have requested access to copies of:

[Insert details of requested documents]

The agency holds the following document/s relevant to your request:

Please find attached a copy of the requested documents. (If applicable) The names of staff names, personal logon identification numbers, and direct contact details have been removed.

The requested information has been released in line with the agency’s administrative access arrangements and the details of your request have been noted on your/the customer’s agency record.
