This document outlines how to record details of the progress of a prosecution after acceptance of the prosecution referral by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP).

Details to be recorded

The following details are to be recorded on the investigation record as the case progresses:

  • charges as notified by the CDPP
  • summons details
  • court proceedings before and after scheduled court hearings
  • penalties after the final court proceeding, if penalties were imposed
  • appeal details if the customer or Services Australia appeals the verdict
