Effects of write-offs on debts raised using informal process example

Sally is sent an informal account payable on 1 January 2021 with a due date of 1 April 2021.

  • On 15 March 2021, Sally receives a Disaster Payment
  • A 6 month DIS write off is applied to her debt and is due to end on 15 September 2021
  • Sally’s debt is now due 28 days after the end of the DIS write off, 13 October 2021
  • Sally will be sent the formal account payable on 15 September 2021 when the DIS write off ends
