Customer changes enrolment hours

Justine is entitled to 100 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight

Justine contacts as their child, John attends 2 child care services:

  • a Centre Based Day Care centre A for 3 days a week, and
  • a Centre Based Day Care centre B for 1 day a week

To maximise their CCS benefit, the customer decides to apportion:

  • 80 hours per fortnight to the Centre Based Day Care centre A, and
  • 20 hours to the Centre Based Day Care centre B

Justine contacts 29 April 2026 because they have found their CCS invoice for Centre Based Day Care centre B is much higher than they expected.

Service Officer investigates and notices the hours of subsidised child care are exhausted because John:

  • increased attendance to 2 days a week at Centre Based Day Care centre B from 13/04/2026, and
  • reduced to 2 days a week at Centre Based Day Care centre A from 13/04/2026

As Centre Based Day Care centre A is not using the apportioned 80 hours for the fortnight,

  • any balance of hours apportioned to that service will not 'transfer' to Centre Based Day Care centre B, and
  • a new apportionment might be required

The Service Officer:

  • has a new Apportionment discussion with the customer
  • ends the current the Apportionment from future CCS Sunday 10/05/2026, and
  • creates a new apportionment instance from future CCS Monday 11/05/2026

ARO decision to cancel Apportionment from a back date

The Service Officer records DOC on the customers record regarding apportionment end date request, however, does not end date apportionment.

Luke contacts again on 12 November 2025 and has a discussion with another Service Officer regarding apportionment.

The Service Officer:

  • notices that apportionment has not been end dated
  • tells Luke that apportionment can only be end dated from a future CCS Sunday, which is now 23/11/2025

Luke:

  • agrees to end date apportionment from future CCS Sunday. and
  • appeals the decision to not apply the end date from 26/10/2025

An Authorised Review Officer varies the decision to backdate to 26/10/2025 and raises the record to ICT for correction of end date and includes:

  • information regarding contact on 20 October 2025
  • information located within DOC on record 12/11/2025

ICT corrects the end date to 26/10/2025.
