Description

1

Can increased quantity and or/repeats be authorised for adalimumab for NIU?

No increase in quantity and/or repeats (NO INC) is allowed for all NIU listings except for balance of supply listings where no increase in quantity (NO Q INC) is allowed.

2

How to enter the dosing of quantity 2 and repeat 6 in the Online PBS Authorities (OPA) system for the initial or recommencing authority approvals for NIU?

If a loading dose regimen is indicated (for example, '80mg week 0 followed by 40mg fortnightly' or 'dosing as directed'), record the dose as '1' and the dose frequency 'as required' in the OPA system.

3

If you receive an initial or recommencement request where a loading dose is not intended (i.e. dose indicated as one injection fortnightly), how many repeats are you able to approve?

Service Officers can only approve 5 repeats to allow for 24 weeks of treatment which does not exceed the maximum amount of 25 weeks under this restriction.
