This document explains specific information about the International Social Security Agreement with Estonia. It includes the process of making a claim for Australian payment under the Agreement and coding of Estonian payments.

The Agreement with Estonia started on 1 January 2018.

Claiming and benefits covered

The Estonian Agreement generally allows customers to lodge a claim for payment from either country. It also allows customers to add together periods of residence in Australia during their working life and periods of social security coverage in Estonia, to meet the minimum requirements for payment.

Australian payments covered:

  • Age Pension

Customers can claim for Australian payments under Agreements. See Claims for Australian payments under International Agreements.

Estonian payments covered:

  • Old Age Pension (AGE)
  • Survivor Pension (SUR)

Customers can claim a foreign pension by contacting Services Australia or the Estonian authorities.
