Non-attendance at Job Capacity Assessments (JCA) appointments 008-25022123
This document provides an overview of JCA and details about the appropriate action(s) to take if a customer does not attend a scheduled appointment.
JCA appointments
Assessors must conduct a JCA to assess a customer's level of functional impairment and work capacity for a disability or medical condition(s).
See Job Capacity Assessments (JCA) for more details about:
- what is in a JCA assessment report
- assessment formats, and
- when the customer needs a JCA
Customer fails to attend scheduled JCA appointment
When a customer fails to attend a phone, face to face or video conferencing JCA appointment, the Assessor must consider:
- if the customer is remote
- if the format can be changed to a file assessment
- if the customer is not remote, or when the format cannot be changed to a file assessment, a second JCA appointment will be booked
If a customer fails to attend a second JCA appointment, the assessor may finalise the referral as Unable to Complete (UTC) (see the Process page for more details).
