Delegations and authorisations

Service Officer (SO3) and above

  • Credit NAP under s71, s71A and 71B, where there is:
  • no dispute
  • both parties can be contacted
  • Credit NAP reported by the person owed the debt under s71, s71A, 71B and 71C

Service Officer (SO4) and above

  • Credit NAP under s71, s71A, 71B and 71C where there is:
    • a dispute
    • where either party cannot be contacted
  • Refuse to credit an amount under s71D

Note: this does not prevent an officer at a lower level who has the support from their team leader from carrying out the preliminary steps. However, the final decision to process a NAP must be made by an authorised officer or higher.
