Item	Description
1	Valid action codes Manual cancellation of PPL should not be undertaken when a customer advises of a change in circumstances. The change in circumstances for PPL must be updated on the customer record. Process Direct The PPL Claim Action (P1CA) screen allows the user to manually update the status to NEF, REJ or CAN.
2	Not effective/Rejection A PPL status of NEF or REJ cannot be reassessed using a REA activity on the P1CA. However, if all information is provided, claims can be reassessed by re-indexing them using an NCL activity type. A customer does not need to lodge a new claim if certain circumstances are met, e.g. if all requested information has been provided. See Not effective, rejection or withdrawal of claim for Parental Leave Pay (PPL).
3	Restoration A PPL restoration can only be actioned if the PPL claim is cancelled, except where it is cancelled 'EOP - End of Payment' (where the customer has already received their full PPL entitlement) and the child was born or adopted before 1 July 2023). Where a customer’s PPL claim for a child born or adopted on or after 1 July 2023 is Cancelled 'EOP - End of Payment' (CAN-EOP) and the customer advises they weren’t eligible for a previously paid PPL day/s (for example the customer worked on the nominated day) the claim can be reopened and reassessed. Note: only selected staff have access to reopen these claims.
4	Level Claim - status applies to PPL claim Period - status applies: for a PPL claim for a child born or adopted before 1 July 2023, the PPL period (and any connected Flexible PPL days) for a PPL claim for a child born or adopted on or after 1 July 2023, a block of consecutive PPL days Day - individual PPL day level status Note: for claims for children born or adopted on or after 1 July 2023, the manual coding of levels is not required on the P1CA screen.
