Description

1

Does a patient have to be over 18 years to be approved for growth hormone?

No. A patient does not necessarily need to be 18 years or older but must have reached skeletal maturity. There are multiple restrictions and approval and it will depend on when their growth hormone deficiency started, not their current age.

2

How does a prescriber write a prescription for growth hormone?

The Authority request must be written for a quantity sufficient for one month's treatment, with up to 5 repeats. Only some brands of growth hormone are listed for these patients. Refer to a PA if not sure.
