Closing dates for lodgement of student and Australian Apprentice claims 106-04030000

This document outlines procedures to assist in assessing how the date a claim for ABSTUDY or Assistance for Isolated Children (AIC) Scheme is lodged will affect the payment start date.

Claim lodgement

Certain student and Australian Apprentice claims have differing rules regarding claim lodgement than other Services Australia administered payments. These are ABSTUDY, AIC, and ABSTUDY or AIC Pensioner Education Supplement (PES). They are not covered by the 'deemed claim' provisions of the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999, and each has different rules regarding when the form needs to be lodged to claim payment.
