JCA appointments
Assessors must conduct a JCA to assess a customer's level of functional impairment and work capacity for a disability or medical condition(s).
See Job Capacity Assessments (JCA) for more details about:
Reasons why a JCA may be finalised as ‘Unable to Complete’ overview
Assessors undertake a JCA to assess a customer's level of functional impairment and work capacity for a disability or medical condition(s). There may be times when the Assessor cannot complete the assessment.
The assessor should consider the customer’s medical information, medical condition(s) and personal circumstances before finalising a Job Capacity Assessment (JCA) as Unable to Complete (UTC).
An Assessor may finalise a Job Capacity Assessment (JCA) as Unable to Complete (UTC) for the following reasons:
- Customer withdraws claim before/or at the time of the JCA appointment
- Customer declines to participate or does not consent to Information Sharing
- Non-attendance at Job Capacity Assessments (JCA) appointments
- Medical evidence supports manifest medical eligibility
- Inappropriate/incorrect JCA referral type
- Transfer re-schedule to another assessor or ESSWeb site, or
- Residency information incorrect in JCA referral
