Change of circumstances for ABSTUDY customers 010-02120000

This document outlines the process when an ABSTUDY customer has a change of circumstances.

Change of circumstances

ABSTUDY customers need to advise Services Australia when they have a change of circumstances. Notifiable events include, but are not limited to:

  • Change in personal circumstances
  • Change of address
  • Change of income
  • Failure to lodge tax return
  • Change in care arrangements
  • Change in study load
  • Planning to leave Australia
  • Change of applicant

Customers must advise of changes within 14 days. Reassessment of eligibility and/or entitlements are from the date of the change in circumstance, not the date of notification.
