Payment choices and eligibility for the EMSN FTB Part A threshold

Once a family becomes eligible for EMSN FTB Part A threshold they are eligible for the remainder of that calendar year. That is, even if FTB Part A payments stop during that calendar year.

get a fortnightly FTB Part A payment

eligibility for the EMSN FTB Part A threshold starts from the date of their first fortnightly payment for the rest of that calendar year.

If a family gets a FTB Part A payment on 1 February 2025, they are considered eligible:

for the EMSN FTB Part A threshold from 1 February 2025
for the remainder of the 2025 calendar year

get a lump sum payment for the previous financial year and they are paid the lump sum payment by 31 December of the current calendar year

they are eligible for the EMSN FTB Part A threshold from the beginning of the following calendar year.

get a lump sum payment for the previous financial year and they are paid the lump sum payment after 31 December (that is, payment is received in the next calendar year)

they are eligible for the EMSN FTB Part A threshold from the date they get the payment for the remainder of that calendar year.

PBS2744	You have entered invalid search details for search file F. Only a Medicare card number or customer reference number (CRN) can be entered, a search by any other field is invalid.
PBS2745	The Medicare CARD number you have entered does not link to a CRN on the patient database. Please enter the patient's CRN to find FTB Part A details
PBS2746	This patient does not have FTB Part A entitlement. Check keying and try again.
PBS2747	The Medicare CARD number you have entered may not be linked to all FTB Part A entitlement records. To ensure a full search is performed of the FTB Part A database, please enter the CRN.
