Check the FTB rate explanation (REXFTB) screen to make sure the customer has legislative entitlement to FTB Part A in the calendar year. The customer's estimate of income may preclude entitlement to FTB Part A, and they may only have entitlement to FTB Part B. From 1 July 2020, new zero rate CZR- Reason will be applied for FTB Part A:

Where a customer claims FTB as a lump sum, eligibility for CDBS is for the calendar year immediately following the financial year for which the FTB lump sum claim relates. A customer must be eligible for FTB Part A in the financial year that the lump sum claim applies. Advise the customer if age and qualifying payment eligibility criteria for CDBS are met and if data is sent to Medicare. Tell the customer they can check their eligibility and remaining CDBS benefit cap amount by accessing their Medicare online account at myGov, the Express Plus Medicare App or by contacting the CDBS team. Record details on a DOC. If the eligibility status is still No, go to Step 6. |
