This document outlines information on granting and recording parental permission to enquire.
Authority
An ABSTUDY or Youth Allowance (YA) customer may authorise their parent(s) to enquire about their claim and payments. This authority may be unrestricted or be limited in terms of period and/or types of information provided to the parent. The customer may provide this authority in person, by phone or by mail. Details of the authority must be recorded on a Display on Access DOC.
Note: where the parent or guardian is the applicant for ABSTUDY purposes, they do not need additional authority to make enquiries. For more information on determining who is the applicant, see Who is the ABSTUDY applicant and interim claims.
