1 | Question: Will FTB Part B automatically stop when PPL commences?
Answer: The FTB system will read the PPL payment dates and apply the appropriate rules - FTB Part B cannot be paid on any days that the customer gets PPL. If a pre-birth/adoption PPL claim is assessed pending proof of birth/entry into care, FTB Part B will cease from the expected date of birth/entry into care to reduce possible risk of overpayment. Once proof of birth is provided, any adjustments to FTB Part B are made within the PPL claim assessment and any Part B debt is raised as a qualification debt. FTB quarantine coding will be separate to PPL. Therefore, staff will need to code a return to work for both PPL and FTB Part B using separate workflows. |
2 | Question: If FTB Part B was automatically stopped when PPL commenced, does the customer need to contact to restore the FTB Part B payment?
Answer: No. On days when the customer receives PPL, the customer or their partner will: - continue to receive FTB Part A if eligible
- not get FTB Part B
Customers are not required to reclaim FTB Part B, if during the days they received PPL, they have maintained eligibility to FTB. |
3 | Question: Does PPL impact on FTB Part B quarantine?
Answer: FTB Part B quarantine will not be able to be applied on days where the customer or their partner get PPL. |
