This document outlines information on the Practice Incentives Program (PIP) and Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) – Practice Stream for health professionals and supporting systems.
Background
The PIP is aimed at supporting general practice activities that encourage continuing improvements and quality care, enhance capacity and improve access and health outcomes for patients. We administer the PIP on behalf of the policy owners, the Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHAC). The PIP is not a legislative program and is delivered under program guidelines.
The WIP – Practice Stream provides incentive payments to practices to support an expanded and enhanced role of nurses employed in general practice. We administer the WIP – Practice Stream on behalf of the policy owners, the DoHAC and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). The WIP – Practice Stream is not a legislative program and is delivered under program guidelines.
