    • the registration confirms the medical practitioner is on a competent authority pathway (CAP), and
    • any approved locations are listed
  • Recognition expiry date is the end date of specialty

Limited area of need END date letter

  • Medical practitioner who is recognised for a 2 year period with:
    • the limited registration includes approval for the medical practitioner to work in a specialist position, and
    • the registration subtype shows Area of Need (AoN), and
    • any approved locations are listed
  • Recognition expiry date is the end date of specialty

Provider does not hold Fellowship of the relevant Australasian College END date letter

  • Medical practitioner who is recognised for a 2 year period with:
    • specialist registration for the specialty requested, and
    • has not supplied evidence of Australasian college fellowship
  • Recognition expiry date is the end date of specialty

Change of Status under 3DB

  • Medical practitioner who is:
    • recognised as a specialist/consultant physician previously under section 3E, and
    • reapply under section 3DB after change of residency status
  • Recognition expiry date is date of permanent residency granted

Recognition under 3DB

  • Australian citizen/permanent resident medical practitioner who applies for recognition as a specialist/consultant physician under section 3DB

Recognition under 3E when recognition is open ended

  • Temporary resident medical practitioner who:
    • applies for recognition as a specialist/consultant physician under section 3E, and
    • supplied evidence of Australasian college fellowship

Provider subject to section 19AB

  • Medical practitioner who is subject to section 19AB

For 3DB/3E - if already have 19AB approval

  • Medical practitioner who is subject to section 19AB and has current 19AB exemptions at any open locations

Mental Health Skills Training

  • Medical practitioner who is no longer eligible to MHST, PSC or FPS (VR specialty codes 647, 648, 649 and/or 650 or non-VR specialty codes 662, 663, 664 and/or 665)
  • No longer eligible to access from date is the end date of relevant specialty codes

Respiratory and Sleep Medicine with training equivalent to Level I or Level II of the Advanced training program in either Adult Paediatric Sleep Medicine or post fellowship specialty recognition in Sleep Medicine can also be selected with Letter A or C

  • Medical practitioner who is:
    • recognised as a consultant physician in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine (specialty code 094), and
    • eligible for Sleep Apnoea recognition (specialty code 192)
  • Sleep Medicine practitioner with effect from date is the start date of specialty code 192

Provider recognised in the speciality of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine with no evidence of training equivalent to Level I or Level II of the Advanced training program in either Adult Paediatric Sleep Medicine or post fellowship specialty recognition in Sleep Medicine

  • Medical practitioner who:
    • is recognised as a consultant physician in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine (specialty code 094), and
    • has not supplied evidence for Sleep Apnoea recognition (specialty code 192)

  • Medical practitioner who is recognised as a specialist of Diagnostic Radiology (specialty code 047)

  • Medical practitioner who is recognised as a specialist and/or consultant physician of Nuclear Medicine (specialty code 048 and/or 090)
