Assistance when paying rent

The Supplementary Assistance payment was introduced in 1958. The payment provided assistance to eligible pension customers who paid rent. In 1985 it became known as Rent Assistance (RA).

Savings provisions

Various savings provisions were available prior to 1 July 2000.
