  • Yes, the start day will be backdated to the first day on or after the birth of the child on which the customer was qualified for payment if the claim is lodged within 4 weeks after giving birth. See the Resources page for an example of calculating the 28 days. Procedure ends here
  • No, go to Step 3

Has the customer claimed Parenting Payment?

  • Yes, the start day will be backdated to the first day on which the customer was qualified for payment if the claim is lodged within 4 weeks after the birth of the child. See the Resources page for an example of calculating the 28 days. Procedure ends here.
  • No, go to Step 4
