Status Resolution Support Services (SRSS) payment enquiries 005-06070010
This document outlines the responsibilities of Services Australia staff when an asylum seeker contacts for information about the Status Resolution Support Services payment, or if a customer in receipt of the Status Resolution Support Services payment contacts with an enquiry about their payment.
SRSS new claims
Asylum seekers are required to initiate a SRSS new claim by contacting their local SRSS service provider in their state. For this information, refer the person to the Department of Home Affairs external website. See Resources.
All other enquiries
Services Australia will:
- advise SRSS customers about their payment including the rates and when it will be paid
- contact SRSS customers in band 5 or 6 to complete their compulsory 6 monthly SRSS review
- complete Medicare enrolments for SRSS customers
Services Australia cannot provide advice to SRSS customers on immigration or visa status.
Customers with enquiries about eligibility for the SRSS program or immigration or visa status should be referred to the Department of Home Affairs.
Types of SRSS enquiries
SRSS customers may contact Services Australia if they:
- have not been paid
- commenced working
- request an income statement
- want to query the amount paid
- want to advise a change of circumstances
- want to reschedule an appointment
- want to update their bank account details
- disagree with a Services Australia decision
Refer SRSS customers to the Department of Home Affairs if they ask if the SRSS payment is taxable.
If an SRSS customer requires further assistance, refer them to their Department of Home Affairs contracted service provider.
