Single Assessment System workforce + Read more ...

The Single Assessment System workforce will determine the level and/or type of care required by a person and provide information about the types of services that are available to suit their care needs. The Assessment Service Finder, available on the My Aged Care website, allows a person to locate the contact details required to commence the process.

The Single Assessment System workforce replaced the Regional Assessment Service (RAS), the Aged Care Assessments Teams (ACATs), and the independent Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) assessors to simplify and improve a person’s experience with the aged care system by:

  • providing a single assessment pathway for older people so they do not have to change assessment providers as their care needs change
  • ensuring access to assessments in regional, remote and rural areas
  • reducing wait times to receive an assessment of care needs
