Eligibility for Care Minutes Supplement + Read more ... Providers do not need to apply for the Care Minutes Supplement. The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (DHDA) determine eligibility and performance values each quarter based on provider quarterly care minutes reporting. DHDA sends this information to Services Australia. Services Australia then calculates the Care Minutes Supplement and is paid as part of the monthly claim. Enquiries regarding eligibility and care minute reporting for the supplement are referred to DHDA. |

Calculation of Care Minutes Supplement + Read more ... The Care Minutes Supplement rate is based on the care minute hours the provider reports in their Quarterly Financial Report (QFR) two quarters earlier with DHDA. For example, care minutes performance in October - December 2025 will determine funding in April - June 2026. The Care Minutes Supplement daily rate will be paid on a sliding scale. The Care Minutes Supplement matrix table outlines the supplement rate payable using the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC) funding. This is based on:
See the Resources page for a link to the table on the DHDA Schedule of Subsidies and Supplements for Residential and Transition Care. For example, when DHDA calculate the provider is delivering 98% total care minutes and 96% RN targets from the provider's quarterly report. Using the rate table, this equates to a daily supplement of $30.75 per occupied bed. The Care Minutes Supplement will be zero where a service reports to the DHDA that they have delivered less than 85% of the total care minutes and RN minutes targets. Providers can use the online care minutes supplement estimator to check the funding they may receive from April 2026. See the Resources page for a link to the online care minutes supplement estimator. |
