For the instrument that allows a person to qualify for an annual EMEP:
- subject to other eligibility criteria, if they or a person for whom they care uses specified essential medical equipment, see Social Security (EMEP - Essential Medical Equipment) Specification 2022
- if they, their partner or a person for whom they care holds an energy account or contributes to paying an energy account for a specified form of energy that is supplied to the relevant EMEP residence, see Social Security (EMEP - Energy) Specification 2022
- subject to other eligibility criteria, if they or a person for whom they care has a specified medical condition and requires additional heating or cooling, resulting in higher than average energy use, see Social Security (EMEP - Medical Conditions) Specification 2022
- if they, as the person with medical needs, or they as the carer of the person with medical needs and the person for whom they care, reside in a home that is a specified residence, see Social Security (EMEP - Residences) Specification 2022
