Family and secondary student temporarily moves to another home location Jonh is from Badu Island and currently boards at boarding school. John’s family have moved to Brisbane to support a parent having specialist medical treatment. John transitions to a day student and lives with their family while they are temporarily living in Brisbane. For John to remain eligible for the Away from Home rate, the family must intend to return to the permanent home, and evidence for the purpose of the temporary home may be required to support the students move into the temporary location. The AFH eligibility would cease when the family no longer intend to return to the original family location. The exception would be for a secondary school student where continuity of study provisions exist. |
