Mutual obligation requirements
Scenario for customers who are intending students
This table describes a scenario where current JobSeeker Payment (JSP) customers would generally be required to look for any suitable work available while they are waiting to commence a course of study in the near future.
Item |
Scenario |
1 |
Customers who have to wait for a period of time before starting a full-time course would normally be expected to have an activity type of job search.
Example:
A customer has been accepted into the next intake of a course, but that is not for another 3 months.
Expectation:
The customer would generally be required to look for any suitable work available, which would not affect their ability to undertake the course of study. The customer would be encouraged to seek temporary, part-time or casual work, even if only for a short period.
