Student Financial Supplement Scheme (SFSS) roles and responsibilities 010-12010000



The Student Financial Supplement Scheme (SFSS) closed from 1 January 2004. Since December 2005 all outstanding Financial Supplement Loans (FSL) have been transferred to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for recovery.

This document outlines the roles and responsibilities of Service Australia officers, and employees from the Australian Taxation Office in the administration of the Student Financial Supplement Scheme (SFSS).

  • Provide customer with information on their loans, e.g. balance transferred to the ATO, repayments, bonuses and loan Identification numbers
  • Provide information on previous year loans using the Archive and Culling Engine (ACE), e.g. education details, credit account, payments and pay dates
  • Update addresses and other customer details

  • Provide customer with information on their loans, e.g. balance transferred to the ATO, payout figure, repayments, bonuses and loan Ids
  • Provide information on previous year loans using the Archive and Culling Engine (ACE), e.g. education details, credit account, payments and pay dates
  • Update addresses and other customer details
  • Respond to review of decisions from customers

  • Recovery of FSL debts after the transfer of the loan at the end of the contract period
  • Respond to enquiries re recovery of FSL debts via Notice of Assessment (NOA)
  • Accept repayments after end of contract period

Commonwealth Bank + Read more ...

From 1st December 2005 when all outstanding Financial Supplement Loans were bought back by the Commonwealth Government, the Commonwealth Bank no longer has any role to play in the Financial Supplement Loan process.
