Check if customer meets the eligibility criteria for restoration of a Low Income Health Care Card + Read more ...

Ensure that the customer meets the eligibility criteria for a Low Income Health Care Card (LIC) and that the reason for restoration is correct.

Always check the Document List (DL) screen for details about the suspension as in some cases, it may not be appropriate to restore at the first point of contact.

If the LIC has been cancelled incorrectly, due to error or incorrect information provided, LIC can be restored.

Check cancellation and rejection codes for LIC to confirm if restoration can be actioned.

Note: for cancellations due to card expiry, LIC may not be restored unless a renewal activity has been submitted within 13 weeks from the expiry date. See Low Income Health Care Card (LIC) renewals.

Go to the Benefit Action (BA) screen in the LIC system.

In these fields:

  • Svc Rsn, key 'LIC'
  • Action, key 'RES' (for restoration)
  • Effect Date, key the date of effect if this does not appear automatically
  • Notes, key notes
  • Source, key the source
  • DOR, key the date of receipt

Record all details on a DOC.

Finalise activity via the Assessment Results (AR) screen.
