Change of care for Health Care Card (HCC) only Carer Allowance (CA) (child) 009-03050030
This document outlines the requirements following a Carer Allowance (CA) (child) change of care, where the carer is qualified for a Health Care Card (HCC) only CA for the child.
Requirements when there is a change of care
With a change of care for HCC only CA:
- the carer who is ceasing care for a care receiver will have no further entitlement. HCC only CA should be cancelled
- the new carer is required to complete a new claim
- a new medical report is required when:
- the claim is made within 6 months of the next scheduled medical review of entitlement, or
- there is reason to believe that the care receiver's medical condition has changed
Dispute between carers
If there is a dispute between 2 carers over the care being provided, see Change of care for Carer Payment (CP) and Carer Allowance (CA) customers.
