This document outlines the Personal Assets Test for JobSeeker Payment (JSP), Austudy and independent Youth Allowance (YA) or ABSTUDY. The value of a customer's assets must be below the allowance Assets Test limits. Once a customer's assets are over the Assets Test limit, they do not qualify for payment.

YA dependent customers + Read more ...

Dependent YA customers are exempt from the application of the Assets Test as they are assessed under the Parental Means Test.

Is the dependent YA customer exempt from the Assets Test?

  • Yes,
    • The system will recognise that the customer is a dependent YA customer and will automatically exempt them from the Assets Test
    • Procedure ends here
