Services Australia has a responsibility to promote and encourage participation in SEE to eligible customers.

For customers with a new claim:

  • refer eligible customers to SEE
  • book a Pre-Training Assessment appointment with the SEE provider, while the customer is present, and
  • tell the SEE provider the customer's participation category and hours to inform an appropriate study schedule

For provider-managed customers with a change of circumstances:

  • run the Job Seeker Snapshot, and
  • consult with the customer's provider before referring the customer to SEE

For people not in receipt of income support and seeking a referral, determine if they are eligible and willing to be registered as a volunteer job seeker. If not, tell them they can get a referral to SEE from:

  • an employment services provider
  • a SEE provider, or
  • the DEWR Digital Services Contact Centre

For full details for all customers, see Referral to Skills for Education and Employment (SEE).
