Actioning Approved Care Organisation (ACO) advice of transfer, discharge or absence of a young person 102-05050030
This document explains information relating to the transfers, discharges and absences of young persons to or from ACOs.
Lodgement of spreadsheet
ACOs must advise Services Australia immediately of any changes in care arrangements such as a transfer, discharge or absence of young persons in their care. This will make sure they are receiving the correct entitlement of Family Tax Benefit (FTB). To provide notification of changes in care arrangements the ACO must complete and return via email the ‘ACO admission, transfer or discharge spreadsheet’ to the ACO processing team.
The ACO processing team will
- action the spreadsheet
- contact the ACO if further information is required
If care is being transferred from a custodial parent to an ACO, debts may be incurred if the parent/carer did not previously advise Services Australia of the change in care.
No longer a client of an ACO
If a young person is no longer a client of an ACO, FTB payments to the ACO for that young person must cease from the date the young person left care.
The Resources page contains information about the 'ACO admission, transfer or discharge spreadsheet'
