Customer debt task

Standard withholdings will take effect

A current customer eligible for withholdings:

  • is not under a withholdings (WHS) arrangement, and
  • has one or more debts under a DIS, STH, ORA or OSA write off which will end in 6 days

Manage your debt

Payment of the money you owe will start soon.

A standard amount will be deducted automatically from your Centrelink payment. You can change this amount now.

Non-standard withholdings will take effect

A current customer in a disaster or emergency affected location:

  • who ceased a non-standard withholdings arrangement through Money you owe, and
  • has had no other changes to their circumstances
  • will have the withholdings re-instated at the previous rate when the DIS write off ends, and
  • SMS message is sent to customer 6 days before the DIS write off ends

Manage your debt

Payment of the money you owe will start again soon. We will deduct your agreed amount automatically from your Centrelink payment. You can change this amount by using the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app or your Centrelink online account through myGov. Thank you if you have already paid. Do not reply by SMS.

Recovery will restart

A former customer who is not eligible for withholdings:

  • is not under an arrangement, and
  • has one or more debts under a DIS, STH, ORA or OSA write off which will end in 6 days

A debt is due soon

A former or current customer not eligible for withholdings:

  • is not under a payment arrangement
  • has one or more debts that are due within 14 days, and
  • has one or more debts that are not written off

An amount is owed

A former or current customer not eligible for withholdings:

  • is not under a payment arrangement
  • has one or more debts that are overdue, and
  • has one or more debts that are not written off

Payment is overdue

A former or current customer not eligible for withholdings:

  • is under a payment arrangement
  • their agreed payment is overdue, and
  • they have one or more debts that are not written off

Fix your payment arrangement

Your agreed payment is overdue. You need to pay the overdue amount now. You may be charged interest daily if you do not keep to a payment arrangement.

Direct debit payment declined

A former or current customer not eligible for withholdings:

  • is under a direct debit arrangement
  • their payment has declined, and
  • they have one or more debts that are not written off

Fix your direct debit arrangement

Your direct credit payment declined. You need to set up a new payment arrangement now. You may be charged interest daily if you do not keep to a payment arrangement.

Debt paused due to disaster and emergency affected locations

When a former or current customer has paused their payment arrangement because of an approved debt pause for a disaster and emergency location.

You have temporarily stopped your ongoing payment arrangement or delayed repaying your debt.

Please note the end date for this pause is: <Pause End Date>.
