Cancel my current payment serviceCustomers access the Cancel my current payment service in their Centrelink online account from the Payments and claims > Manage payments desktop (top of page) or left menu of their Centrelink online account. On the Cancel my payment page, the customer sees a message specific to their payment type. For information about payment-specific messages, see Table 2. The customer selects Begin to continue. The customer is asked if they are sure they want to cancel their <payment type>. The customer needs to select:
When the customer selects Yes, the following message will show (excludes TAP): 'Cancelling your payment may affect other payments you get, including Rent Assistance, Family Tax Benefit and Child Care Subsidy. Your concession card may also be cancelled. If you want to discuss your payment options, please contact us. If you require financial help in the future you will need to submit a new claim. Waiting periods may apply.' Select Next > Continue to proceed. | |

Cancellation in progress message showsIf the customer signs in again and accesses the Cancel my current payment service before the cancellation is manually finalised by a Service Officer, the following message shows: 'Your Cancellation is in progress Your request is being reviewed by a service officer. Once it has been finalised, we'll let you know.' |

If you require other assistance, you can use the Payment and Service Finder to check what payment may be suitable for you.' The following message also shows for YA customers under 22 years of age and TAP: 'If you ceased study in the last 14 days and still require assistance, please contact us on 132490.' | |
Youth Allowance (YA) job seekers'If you are cancelling your payment as you are now studying full time, update your study details using the Manage study details service, as you may be eligible to receive Youth Allowance as a student. If have found work, you may still qualify for a partial payment if you have a working credit balance. You may be entitled to up to 12 fortnights at nil rate if you continue to report your income. You must report every fortnight to access working credits and nil rate periods. Your concession card won’t change while using working credits or during nil rate periods. If your income reduces during the nil rate period, your payment rate will adjust automatically when you report, and you won’t need to reclaim or serve waiting period Once your payment cancels you are no longer allowed to use your concession card.' | |
