Child support estimates 277-07040000
Estimate Rights and Obligations Message
Read the following to the customer.
You need to contact us and update your income estimate as soon as your income changes. This is to make sure your child support assessment is correct.
You can do this by using your Child Support online account through myGov or by calling 131 272.
If your income goes up and you do not tell us, we may backdate the change to your child support assessment. This can increase the child support you must pay or reduce the child support you may receive.
If your income goes down, and you do not tell us, we will not usually backdate the change.
We can review your estimate at any time if we think it is wrong. We may ask you to give us evidence to support your estimated income.
We will check your estimate at a later date. If it is wrong, you may have a debt you will have to repay.
The other person in the assessment may object to a decision to accept your estimate.
If we refuse to accept your estimate, you have 28 days to tell us you do not agree with our decision.
