Register an agreement + Read more ... To register a child support agreement with Child Support, customers can lodge:
The agreement must specify the proposed child support amounts, the start and end dates, and must be signed by the receiving parent and the paying parent. If an agreement is lodged with Centrelink by a Family Tax Benefit (FTB) customer, check they have a current child support assessment or child support agreement. If the customer does not have a current child support agreement or agreement in place, update maintenance action for each relevant child to 'CAC', record details on a DOC, and forward agreement to Child Support. |

Agreement start date on or after 1 July 2008 + Read more ... Child Support is responsible for assessing the agreement and will transfer details electronically to Centrelink for FTB customers. This is an automatic process and no assessment or manual coding is required. When Child Support accept a child support agreement, a Provisional Notional Assessment (PNA) is created. The PNA is not transmitted to Centrelink via the data exchange. Rather, for the PNA period, Child Support will transfer the actual agreement amount, which will show as an Administrative Assessment. Child Support gives both the receiving parent and paying parent at least 23 days from the date the PNA is issued to seek a variation to the PNA. The PNA becomes a Notional Assessment (NA) 23 days after the PNA is issued, or, if an application for variation is made, on the day Child Support vary the PNA or refuse to vary the PNA. Once the PNA becomes an NA, Child Support will transmit the Notional Assessment to Centrelink via the data exchange.
