Processing Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) hearing details and additional documents 277-09180050
This document outlines the process for recording the ART first review hearing and providing additional documents where needed.
Direction hearings
The ART may hold a Directions hearing to discuss the conduct of an ART review. Child Support will generally not be involved in Directions hearings.
Substantive Hearings
The ART must properly consider the matter, using simple and quick proceedings.
The ART may:
- take evidence on oath or affirmation for the purposes of a review of a decision
- give directions about the procedure to be followed at the hearing
- direct who will be present during the hearing
- adjourn the hearing from time to time
Children of the parties, or children being cared for by a carer who is a party, are not to give oral testimony.
The ART will advise Child Support when a hearing has been scheduled.
If Child Support has received further information or documents relevant to the hearing, these will be forwarded to the ART and customers before the hearing date.
