New Zealand Case Management - Bulk Annual Assessments of Child Support – NZIR to Child Support 277-08200000
This document outlines the process to follow when Inland Revenue, New Zealand (NZIR) provides information in bulk for new assessments generated using bulk income information and how to update the New Zealand ‘In’ case.
Bulk annual assessments (BAA)
Inland Revenue, New Zealand (NZIR) provide information in bulk for new assessments generated using the bulk income information provided by Child Support to NZIR. This process commences in March each year and is known as bulk annual assessments (BAA). BAA is generally run as a project with a dedicated Team Leader and a team of Service Officers.
BAA is sent to Child Support via a spreadsheet titled BAA Run to DHS dd mm yy sent which includes the new assessment information generated using the bulk income information previously provided by Child Support.
This document provides the process to follow when requesting an automated batch run to reflect the BAA information on Cuba and generate new assessments.
Note: do not process the BAA information until after 1 April so arrears up to 31 March are included.
During the period between 15 March and 31 March New Zealand ‘In’ cases (with an ongoing liability) are not registered because BAA will contain the most recent assessment information.
Similarly, NZIR do not send amended certificates after the first week in March as BAA will contain the most recent assessment information.
Where it is identified that a case cannot be batch run, the BAA information is processed manually within the BAA Project Team. Throughout this process the BAA Project Team Leader and nominated Team Leader in New Zealand are in constant contact.
Examples of where a case may be removed from BAA include, but are not limited to:
- cases ending due to article 5/7 - identified on the Daily Exchange spreadsheet
- cases withdrawn by NZIR - identified on the weekly Withdrawal spreadsheet
- cases received on Acert spreadsheets before the batch running
