Transition to Business Hub from Centrelink Business Online Services (CBOS) 101-19103112
This document outlines how Services Australia staff who interact with CBOS businesses, can support businesses to transition from CBOS to Business Hub.
What Business Hub is
Business Hub is a secure online service for registered businesses. It allows authorised users to log in and process a range of services provided by the agency. Over time, Business Hub will replace CBOS.
Who can transition
The agency is contacting businesses that have been targeted to transition. This process is managed with program owners and specialised service delivery teams.
When it’s time to transition, the agency will notify businesses about moving from CBOS to Business Hub. All users that need ongoing access to online services will be given instructions on how to transition from CBOS into Business Hub.
Staff who work with CBOS businesses can offer an invitation to transition if they identify that the business is eligible to transition now. A business may be eligible to transition if their service is available in Business Hub.
Services available in Business Hub
The agency is migrating existing CBOS services into Business Hub. The following CBOS services are ready to use in Business Hub:
- Centrepay
- Centrelink Confirmation eServices (CCeS) (including Income Confirmation, Customer Confirmation, Superannuation Confirmation, Contact and Address Verification (CAV)
- Electronic Verification of Rent (EVoR) and Housing Transition Commencement of Rent (TrEVoR)
- Income Management (Schedule 4 & Schedule 5 contracted businesses)
See Process for how to invite a business to transition.
Note: there is a known display issue for CCeS programs. The CCeS provider role incorrectly displays all CCeS services. The Authorised Officer (AO) and Access Manager (AM) can select CCeS services they are not approved for. Service Officers must tell the business to only select the services that they are approved for when using Manage Personnel. If businesses add roles for services they are not approved for, they will receive an error when they try to use that service.
Provider Digital Access (PRODA)
PRODA is an online identity verification and authentication system. It lets businesses securely access government online services.
Users need to register as an individual for PRODA to access services offered through Business Hub.
To register, users need to:
- verify their identity using 3 Australian approved identity documents
- create a username
- verify their email address
- select 3 security questions and provide the answers
See Resources for links to the Services Australia website on How to register for an individual account, and Identity documents you need before you start.
After successfully registering, PRODA sends the user a Registration Authority (RA) number. The RA number is used to connect the user’s PRODA account to the services they are approved to access.
A dedicated PRODA helpdesk is available to assist with registration issues.
What’s happening to CBOS
CBOS will stay active until all services have migrated to Business Hub.
Some users may get instructions to register for PRODA before their services are available in Business Hub. This allows them to verify identity and set up access early. Any issues can be resolved before the start date.
Users can continue to use CBOS until the agency tells them their services are available in Business Hub.
The Resources page contains links to the Services Australia website, intranet, contact details, letters, forms and user guides. It also has frequently asked questions (FAQs) for staff to support businesses transition from CBOS to Business Hub.
