  • Before cancelling a customer's payment, care should be taken to establish that the customer has lost entitlement for that payment

Rejection (REJ) + Read more ...

  • A new claim activity must be completed to get the customer on payment if the decision to reject was incorrect
  • Customers may withdraw their claims voluntarily or may have lodged an inappropriate or incorrect claim. In all these circumstances, claims are not rejected, they are taken to have never been lodged. See Withdrawal of claims
  • Rejection can never be restored

CLR

Claimant request/Voluntary surrender - to be used where Age Pension claimant is also claiming pension deferred bonus, but employment income is likely to make pension bonus amount = $0. The customer has asked to withdraw the claim, but because it has been determined, it can't be withdrawn. To meet the customer's request and preserve their pension bonus entitlement, then the pension may be retrospectively rejected 'at customer request'.

If customer wants to claim a Pension Bonus with their Age Pension both claims must be made within a certain period. Refer to FIS if more information required.
