This document outlines the process for preparing and despatching a file to the ART when a:
- request for a review of a Child Support objection
- extension of time decision has been made
Request for information from ART
When a customer requests an ART first review of a Child Support decision and it has been confirmed as a valid application, the ART will email a 'Request for statement' to Child Support.
The 'Request for statement' requires Child Support to provide ART and the other parties to the appeal all documents. This includes all documents that are relevant to the review, including parts of documents such as:
- copies of original and objection decisions
- statement of reasons for Child Support’s decision
- all relevant evidence, notes, documents and letters
The final file containing this information must be sent to the ART within 28 days of the date of the request.
Where the ART has designated an appeal as a priority, they will specify a timeframe shorter than 28 days.
