When a customer or person on their behalf contacts Services Australia to discuss lodging a claim for Pensioner Education Supplement (PES), determine if PES, ABSTUDY PES or AIC PES is the most beneficial payment. See Identifying the most beneficial payment for students or Australian Apprentices. Note: customers are legally entitled to transfer from PES to ABSTUDY PES to receive additional payments under the ABSTUDY Scheme, even if they already received Education Entry Payment (EdEP) during the year. Is the customer requiring assistance with completing the Claim for ABSTUDY Pensioner Education Supplement form (SY020)? 3	Relevant closing dates + Read more ... Students claiming ABSTUDY PES who were previously in receipt of ABSTUDY may not need to lodge a new claim. These claims follow the same lodgement rules as all ABSTUDY claims. New ABSTUDY PES customers (who have not previously been in receipt of ABSTUDY) must lodge a claim by the closing dates for ABSTUDY PES. Is the student applying before the relevant closing date? 5	Customer is lodging via a paper claim form + Read more ... Issue the Claim for ABSTUDY Pensioner Education Supplement form (SY020) form to customers wanting to claim ABSTUDY PES. Does the customer want to download the claim form from the Services Australia website? Yes, tell them to download the relevant form from the Services Australia website. Go to Step 6 No, use the Mail Forms workflow (Customer First > Workspace > Customer Communication > Mail Forms). Go to Step 6
